New Avenues, founded in 1994, provides a wide variety of management related consulting services. Our philosophy is based on customizing solutions to the unique needs, culture, and history of each individual client. Our client base varies from the Fortune 100 to entrepreneurial start-ups and includes both public and private sector employers in a variety of industries.
• Leadership Development: The Leadership Team is often the key to employee morale, turnover, productivity, and legal issues. Yet many leaders have never received any training on how to accomplish and manage these important issues, or are unprepared to deal with the dynamics of the new workforce. New Avenues believes in an active training style that has participants moving around, discussing and practicing new skills. For detailed information on our training philosophy & topic offerings click here (migrate to training topic page.)
• Employee Development: Customized solutions are available for your employee training needs as well. After learning more about the current level of your staff, we can develop a workshop that will address the specific needs of your employees as well as the real-life situations they are likely to face. • Executive/Employee Coaching: New Avenues will create an intervention designed to evaluate, assist, and improve performance with an employee in a one-on-one setting. With executives, an outside perspective can be invaluable in developing skills without organizational agendas to contend with. Employees struggling with particular skill gaps will have the time and structure to try out and practice new strategies in a non-threatening environment.
• HR Practices Audit & Review: Designed to prevent problems before the Department of Labor, EEOC, or OFCCP comes to visit, an audit can identify areas of non-compliance, as well as point out areas where the organization can improve its effectiveness.
• Organizational Climate Surveys: Enhancing communication and employee satisfaction is rarely an exact science. However, a customized organizational survey can provide invaluable feedback on your employees’ perspectives on a variety of organizational efforts, and a benchmark against which you can measure effectiveness of your interventions. A final survey report will provide insight into staff perceptions as well as segment data to provide precise data to individual leaders. Additionally, recommendations for follow-up actions and/or suggestions for next steps for improving the organization will be shared.
• Employee Handbooks: An employee handbook can not only provide a firm base of legal defense & stave off problems, but can also be a key communication tool, helping employees to understand the company’s expectations, benefits and basic policies. A New Avenues handbook is written in an easy to understand manner, complete with graphic organizers, a table of contents, and a benefits grid. Each handbook is written with an eye towards your unique culture and the history and values of your organization. The end product will be a customized document that can serve as the foundation for your employment practices.
• Performance Management System Design: Creating a performance management system that motivates employees and is easy to use is one of our specialties. After learning more about the scope of duties within different job titles, as well as the company’s philosophy towards performance, we will customize a tool to achieve these objectives. Our focus is on ease of administration and maximum motivation to the employee. Along with the design of the system, we will train those administering performance appraisals on the new tool, as well as performance appraisal pitfalls, legal issues, and how to use the tool as part of a year-round process.
• Independent Investigations: As part of a formal complaint process, many corporation have utilized our independent investigation services when faced with a complaint of sexual harassment or discrimination. As an independent third-party, the matter can be investigated without the presence of bias with the final report used as part of the company’s investigatory process. All investigations are held in strict confidence, and suggestions for resolution can be provided on an informal basis as well.
